Happy Thanksgiving To All

Submitted by RedHatty on November 26, 2008 - 10:50pm.

I miss you guys too!  Turns out Florida is NOT going to be a permanent move, so I am working on getting life re-organized in Louisiana (or somewhere else)

I SHOULD be back to my normal always around status after the New Year.  I know, that's still a ways away, but tomorrow is turkey day, then 3 weeks is my B-Day, then 2 weeks is Xmas, then 1 week to New Years MORE

The New one starts on Thanksgiving day this year, and they have an underwriter sponsoring the prizes, so it should be a great Hunt

Crossing my Fingers for a Saturday Move

Submitted by RedHatty on September 15, 2008 - 8:32pm.

I'm sticking around till at least Friday, Job Corps has kindly allowed my son an all day pass, so I can spend some time with him.  A second round at the big good-bye, just when I thought those apron strings were undone LOL

Looks like Saturday is a go for a moving truck, so that's the plan, stan.  At least until something else comes along to screw it up :-)~ MORE

Looks like the worst is over for us, praying for Texas

Submitted by RedHatty on September 12, 2008 - 4:24pm.

Ike seems to have given us all it's going to.  No major damage, thankfully.  Unfortunately, Texas isn't going to be as lucky.  Galveston is already getting hammered by waves and street flooding.  Praying for all who are in the path and have to ride it out!

Wish this storm would hurry up and go wherever it's gonna go

It's so comforting to check the local news and see this: Ike Proving Difficult for Forecasters to Peg  Now, all the models are still saying a Texas landfall, somewhere around Galveston-Houston now (any Texan WiseOzes, get outta harms way, please!) MORE

Will I ever get out of here?

Submitted by RedHatty on September 7, 2008 - 6:18pm.

Today, Our Governor, Bobby Jindal declared a state of emergency for IKE.  that storm is at least 7 days out.  It was the state of emergency that lost me my reserved (and pre-paid for) U-Haul, now who knows when I can get one??? MORE

Still in Louisiana

Submitted by RedHatty on September 6, 2008 - 6:41pm.

Well, I was supposed to move last Saturday.  That didn't quite work out.  With Hurricane Gustav bearing down, pretty much all of the moving trucks got comandeered by the state and relief agencies.  I won't tell you how mad I was about that, you can only imagine.  All reservations were cancelled.  SO here I am on Saturday morning trying to find a hotel ANYWHERE out of ha
