Are you ready for some FRIED LOGICMyklSkeleton has finely crafted for you eight stages of logic puzzles.  Each stage will have two parts, meaning a possibility for two winners per stage.  The first part is to identify the type of puzzle and its rules.  The second part is to solve the puzzle.

Click COUNT ME IN! to sign-up to participate in this WiseWit.  Click the GOT IT! button nearest to the revealed clue to provide a response.

FOR THE FINAL CHALLENGE ...

ALL LOGIC PUZZLES NEED THIS.

This is a Nurikabe puzzle with letters in all the normally blank squares. This is a very difficult Nurikabe puzzle in general but it’s even harder because it has more than one solution. The six valid solutions are shown below. There are a couple other ways to satisfy the “islands” condition for this type of puzzle but then the “stream” of black squares would be separated.

If you compare the solutions you’ll notice there are 11 squares that are different depending on the solution. The rest of the squares are always the same in all the answers. These 11 squares are shown in yellow below and if you read the letters in each square by starting in the center and spiraling outward and counter-clockwise it spells out the answer: ONE SOLUTION. All logic puzzles need one unique solution to be well-formed.

The winner of the final challenge will receive the intensely difficult Witch Way Disentanglement Puzzle.  Disentanglement puzzles are topological puzzles which have geometric properties and spacial relations unaffected by continuous change of size and shape.  They are mechanical in operation and the piece or pieces to be disentangled can be separated without using force of any kind.  Guaranteed to baffle the most brilliant of minds!

The type of puzzle is Bridges, Hashiwokakero, Chopsticks, Hashi, Ponturu or Ai-Ki-Ai.  Some cells start out with numbers from 1 to 8 inclusive; these are the islands.  The goal is to connect all of the islands into a single connected group by drawing a series of bridges between the islands.  The bridges must follow certain criteria: 1. They must begin and end at distinct islands, traveling a straight line in between. 2. They must not cross any other bridges or islands. 3. They may only run perpendicularly. 4. At most two bridges connect a pair of islands. 5. The number of bridges connected to each island must match the number on that island.

The type of puzzle is "Masyu" or Pearl. The goal is to draw a single continuous non-intersecting loop that properly passes through all circled cells. The loop must "enter" each cell it passes through from the center of one of its four sides and "exit" from a different side; all turns are therefore 90 degrees. The two varieties of circles have differing requirements for how the loop must pass through them: White circles must be traveled straight through, but the loop must turn in the previous and/or next cell in its path; Black circles must be turned upon, but the loop must travel straight through the next and previous cells in its path.
